Configure IBM Cognos for SSL enabled Web Servers
Step 1) Open Internet Information Services(IIS) Manager
Step 2) Click on 'Server Certificates'
Step 3) Click on 'Create Certificate Requests..'
Step 4) Fill required details below & click next
Step 5) Choose 'Cryptographic service provider' and 'Bit length' and click Next
Step 6) Give File Name and click Finish
Step 7) Above step will generated certificate text file

Step 8) Send generated certificate text file to your company's CA authority. And obtain generated cryptographic files from them.
Step 9) Open Web Server & click 'Server Certificates'
Step 10) Click 'Complete Certificate Requests..'
Step 11) Above step will open a new window as shown below
Step 12) Browse to ‘xxx.xxx.xxx-binary’ cryptographic file, give some Friendly name & click OK
Step 13) Click Server Certificates & click on 'Bindings..'
Step 14) Above step will open a new window
Step 15) Click Add. Select ‘https’ in Type and choose SSL certificate from drop down.
Click OK
Step 16) Click Close
Step 17) Now go to Default Web Site and click ‘SSL Settings’
Step 18) Above step will open new window
Step 19) Select ‘Require SSL’ & click Apply, it will save details
Step 20) Click Browse *:443(https), it will open URL in new window & tested
Step 21) Restart web server
Step 22) Now open IBM Cognos Configuration.
Change following details in ‘Cognos Gateway URI’:
http --> https
80 --> 443
Step 23) Save IBM Cognos configuration & Restart IBM Cognos Services
Step 2) Click on 'Server Certificates'
